Internship Highlights: Pranav Adhyapak with Glidance

This post is part of our “Intern of the Week” highlight series written by Kelsie Luong, Class of 2028. For this spotlight, we spoke with Pranav Adhyapak (Class of 2027), who is interning with Glidance

What is your internship and what do you usually do there?

• My internship is at Glidance, a company developing an autonomous robot designed to guide visually impaired individuals. In my role, I primarily work on labeling images to help train the AI model, which is essential for the robot’s navigation and decision-making.

Favorite memory?

• So far, my favorite experience has been going out with the Glide robot for real-world product testing. It was exciting to see how the technology performs outside of a controlled environment.

What is your internship project?

• My internship project involves labeling images to improve the model’s accuracy, as well as participating in testing the versions of the Glide robot in real-world scenarios.

What is something you admire about your mentor?

• I really admire my mentors because they are both supportive and approachable. Even though they have busy schedules, they always make time to help when I reach out. I also appreciate the work environment and how they balance productivity with a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, which makes the experience both engaging and motivating.

Why did you choose this internship, and how does it support your goals?

• I chose this internship because it aligns with my goal of using technology to make a positive impact. Glidance combines AI and automation to create meaningful solutions for the visually impaired, which I find inspiring. This experience is helping me expand my knowledge in STEM while also contributing to a cause that benefits others.
